US Cybersecurity Briefing
Monday, Oct 26, 2026
Covers Fri Oct 23 – Mon Oct 26 (includes weekend)
Bottom line: Quiet weekend: no major new US incident broke Saturday or Sunday beyond Columbia, SC confirming ransomware. Most urgent: patch Arista VeloCloud Orchestrator (CVE-2026-114625) and Nextcloud's built-in Collabora CODE server (CVE-2026-110447). Both are exploited and the CISA deadline is today. In Texas, Qilin has claimed Llano ISD, and Frontline Education breach letters start going to employees of Klein, Lubbock, Waco, Fort Worth, Crowley and Laredo ISDs today.
